Poynter Primary School wrote Life at Dipro Park. Chicken the Emu lives a peaceful, lonely life at DiproPark until he meets an unqualified doctor called Tammy. Tammy is a little crazy and helps Chicken the Emu to get into more trouble. The gardener who hates Chicken with passion gets really angry and tries to capture Chicken twice. Will he succeed or will Chicken escape with the help of his friend Tammy?

Poynter Primary School wrote Little Green Men. When a small girl, Lola, is moving to Australia her ship blows off course. Her ship crashes and she floats on a wooden plank to a giant iceberg. On this iceberg there is a stranded aboriginal named Kamberang and a Martian named Yoda. As they are trying to survive, their time on the iceberg is made worse because of an invasion of Martians, just like Yoda. Will the trio survive and fight off the Martians or will the Martians be able to achieve their evil plot?

St Michael's Primary School wrote Perfect Hair, Floating Air, A Bit of a Scare. Dayzee Becavrio is the most stuck up, full of herself movie star. She is shooting a movie on Lacepede Island when there is a cyclone, leaving her to take shelter in a beached shipwreck. Dayzee is stranded on the island with a ghost and a Chinese dragon who are trying to transform her into a kind-hearted person instead of the self-centred lady that she is. Will she change or not? Will she ever get home? Great read for ages 10-14..

Ever since her father died, her relationship with her mother has slowly fallen apart. Being a teenager is difficult for any girl, but Danielle feels more alone and afraid than ever. No one notices when her mum's boyfriend, Frank, starts acting suspiciously, so it is up to her to investigate and save the coral reef along the way.

When he reaches the city of Fremantle he meets the girl of his dreams, Vivian, but things don't seem to work out in the end as Vivian has a secret that no one would ever expect...

Helped by an ordinary journalist, Britney McGregor, he unravels an unsolved mystery that has been snooping around. The truth lies at Maen Beach, where stranded seals have been washed up. How will Akhmed and Britney save the seals in time?

Melville SHS - Kewl Team wrote Moon-stomper. Caroline Chisolm College - Year 7 Team wrote The Legend. Adventures of Antonio and Hayley. What happens when a pizza parlour chef and a circus performer meet in a restaurant and discover the legend of the Ballarat Gold Mine? Well, one thing is for sure, nothing good could possibly come of this. Hayley Thomas and Antonio Porterelli are old school enemies but when they hear about something amazing down at the mine, they are quick to go down to try and discover the treasure that has been hidden for 300 years. They become involved in the myth of the treasure and the curse of the mine.

St Joseph's College 1, Hunters Hill wrote The Burnt Laugh. Charlie, a famous comedian, was having a great night after he finished his last show. Drinking a bottle of vodka he looked like a hobo. He then smashes his $400,000 Aston Martin suffering 3rd degree burns on the right side of his face. He meets a nice nurse named Hilary who then decides to go out with his brother, George. Out of jealousy he plots to kill them. Read on to find out what happens to Charlie.

St Joseph's College 2, Hunters Hill wrote From the Ashes. From the Ashes is a book about peer pressure, friendships and the love of a family. Its main character is a 14 year old boy named Daniel Matthews. It deals with teen issues such peer pressure, drugs and feeling secure. What will Daniel do in his desperate quest to find friends and a stable family?.

St Joseph's College 4, Hunters Hill wrote Guru Ganing. The Australian outback is a dangerous place. Scientists Sarah Boyd and Mike “Robbo” Robinson and their long time friend, Seth Williams, find this out the hard way. Seth, the owner of one of Sydney’s most recognised art galleries, has invited Sarah to the opening of his new exhibition. While at this exhibition Sarah spots an artwork which reminds her of an article which she recently read. This article spoke of an unexplored cave under Lake Eyre. After speaking to Seth and her fiancé and fellow scientist, Robbo, they all set out to the small town of Birdsville in South Australia. From here they set out for Lake Eyre. Upon arrival they find the underground cave and more than they bargained for…. Recommended for ages 12-14 years.

St Joseph's College 5, Hunters Hill wrote Parrot Talk. Samantha, John and J.J. all sat on the metro line to the CBD. John propped up his guitar on his knees. J.J. sat up on Samantha’s Lap. John looked at her. She looked beautiful. Her blonde hair flowed down to her waist. She was wearing a beautiful purple dress she made herself on set in her spare time. She was as trim as any of the models on her set and far prettier. Samantha’s briefcase was falling apart but she didn’t care.

St Joseph's College 6, Hunters Hill wrote Rainbow Durrin. In the 1800s, the Australian outback was a harsh place. Dreamtime magic fills the air and bushrangers rule the land. Henry Dawson is a modest tailor whom supplies ‘One-shot Splinter’ and the Splinter Gang with enchanted suites, making them invulnerable to harm. When Henry Dawson’s wife Elizabeth takes a turn for the worse with her sickness, Dawson looks to the great Shaman for answers. Henry Dawson must make the ultimate sacrifice to save his wife and restore the legend of the Dreamtime, much to the frustration of the Splinter Gang. The Marian College Team 3 wrote Taken by Chance. This is a story about the highs and lows of growing up. It details the hectic week in the life of a 20 year old male, Ross. Ross is trying to earn a living being a pizza delivery guy. His life changes when he loses control of his van and crashes. He loses his job, his car and his girlfriend. But his life changes dramatically when he meets up with the girl who saved his life, Diana. This story underlines the issues faced by young people when they are trying to get their lives in order.
